Halloo,

The Prophet(SAW), according to those present at the time, was reported to be verbally abused and stoned by a woman who is against the prophet and his religion, Islam. This woman kept this act up for weeks.

This woman will be up at dawn, waiting for the Prophet on his way to the mosque, every day. She would shout, abuse, and rain curses on Muhammed(SAW). Some even claimed that she sometimes stoned him.

She continued to do this unfailingly every morning for a very long time. The Prophet ignored her and just went about his business.

One day, the Prophet was surprised as this woman was not in her usual place to attack him on his way to the mosque. He wondered what could have happened to the woman.

The prophet decided to go to the woman’s house and asked what is wrong with the woman. The woman was surprised and moved to tears, that the person she had been attacking for months could be this kind to her.

The woman became a Muslim.

Note… She did not become a Muslim through force or persuasion. She became a Muslim by the kindness demonstrated by Rasullullah (SWT). The prophet bore all her abuse quietly. He never retaliated. He did not complain of any disrespect. He never asked any of his followers to beat up the woman, let alone kill her. All these happened in the Prophet’s lifetime.

This is my response to the recent killing of a young girl in Northern Nigeria by some so-called Muslims. Her offense- she disrespected the Prophet(SWT). So they burned her. How do we explain this?

My point is simple- How come a man who behaved this way thousands of years ago is now been defended by killing? Please, think about it. I call those who are not Muslims to please read this story a second time and think about what the people saying they are defending the prophet by killing are doing. Does it make any sense?

Let’s look at this critically. The Prophet brought Islam. He was known for preaching peace and love. He valued lives greatly. Why spill blood to defend such a person? Hard to wrap my head around this, and I am a Muslim. What are the non-muslims to do here?

Whatever this young woman may have said or done. It is not right to slaughter her. To take judgment into your own hands and act for God is equating yourself to God! Why can’t we understand that?

Whatever it is they believe they are practicing is best known to them, but this is not my religion. The God I pray to daily is a God of love, tolerance, equality, and a very forgiving God.

My heart is heavy. A beautiful religion is being turned into something else. A young woman was slaughtered by unrepentant perpetrators. And some people cannot see the wrong in this but justify it as the consequence of blasphemy. In this day and age?

Many Muslims do not support this act. We just want to live, do our own things, and let others do their own things too in peace. Those hard-liners are the ones making waves because of their extreme views. I have never forced my faith down anyone’s throat, and will not appreciate anyone forcing theirs down my throat either. Why can’t we all live together in peace?
