Halloo,

Many people have breakout-prone skin, which leads to acne. it is a major problem for most people with oily-skin.

Acne, according to Wikipedia, is a skin disease that occurs when dead skin cells and oil from the skin clog hair follicles. Typical features of acne include blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, Cysts, and possible scarring.

Acne can be caused by genetics, hormones, infections, diet, stress, skincare products, and other lifestyle choices. The 2 most common triggers of acne problems hormone-related or skincare products related.

The solution to a particular acne problem will lie in the cause. It is a no-brainer that not much great results can be achieved if someone’s acne is caused by hormones and the person is looking for solutions in skincare products.

Now, I am not saying if your break out is caused by hormones you shouldn’t care for your skin, that is not the case at all. Keeping all skin types clean, clear and well cared for is essential to everyone. The message is simply to look for a solution that fits the root cause of the problem.

Hormonal Acne

Hormonal acne or acne caused by fluctuations in hormones typically occur during puberty but it has been known to affect some adults of any age too. Some women breakout from this when menstruating, when going through menopause, have increased androgen levels, and have polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Acne caused by hormones are deeper, bigger, and painful. They look very red, cystic, and inflamed.

The best treatment for hormonal acne is oral medications prescribed by doctors. Some experts claimed that some natural products do work on hormonal acne like Tea tree oil, Green tea, Alpha hydroxy acid, and some lifestyle changes. It is best to speak with a doctor.
