Halloo,

Let me use this opportunity of incarceration to show you a little bit of Ireland’s Natural Beauty. Coronavirus is real. We have to stay indoor to protect ourselves and others. Let’s do it with some fun.

Ireland is surrounded by Natural Beauty. I am constantly reminded of this whenever I traveled out of Dublin.

Mother Nature really blessed this country with some jaw-dropping scenery. I was lately reminded of that when my family and I took a quick trip to Killarney. One of the beautiful places we visited is ‘The Gap of Dunloe’.

Can I just say that as a Nature-Lover I don’t think I can do justice to the beauty of this place, I really can’t. My photography skill can’t either. So, I am going to implore you to go out there and see it for yourself when this Coronavirus epidemic is over.

So here is my poor attempt at telling and showing you about ‘The Gap of Dunloe’ through writing and pictures. I muted the videos, you don’t want to hear me talking and the strong wind in the background. There is no editing or interference whatsoever with these clips. They are presented to you as captured.

The Gap of Dunloe is located just a few kilometers from Killarney City. Getting to this place is quite easy. The journey to The Gap is filled with amazing scenery that you will know without a doubt that the place you are going must be awesome.

Getting into the Gap, we met many people on the way walking, some with children. So, I guess it is not very dangerous. We drove through it in the car. We also saw some horse-driven carriages, which I supposed will give the occupants better view than us in the car.

It is a very narrow uphill road, so care must be taken. I admit I was a bit scared. Okay, a lot scared. But in my defence, we were driving in the rain and the narrow road (though with barriers) is really close to the edge. Barely room for 2 cars to pass each other, or for a car to turn back.

Looking ahead you can see the narrow road winding up into the hills like a snake.

But the natural beauty of this place brought tears to my eyes. God is really the greatest. To create such beauty.

At the entrance of the gap there are 2 places to eat. Really top-quality food at reasonable prices. We ate at Katy’s. The food and the service we got is a credit to Irish hospitality.

Please make a note in your diary to visit Gap of Dunloe.

Do stay safe, observe all the safety measures to protect you from COVID-19 above, have FUN!
