Halloo,
I am going to ask your pardon before I start this topic because it may be considered by many of us as irrelevant. But I assure you that this is a question I get asked a lot, so I thought let’s just tackle the elephant in the room so we can move to more important topics.
The Double boiler referred to in many Skincare Recipe is not an excuse to whip out your purse and start looking for sophisticated equipment, do use the money for something else; like giving it to me. LOL.
Some Homemade Skincare Enthusiast has specially created piece of equipment called “Double Boiler”. Do buy one if you so wish, but if you are like me you will agree it is unnecessary.
Seriously there is no mystery to Double Boilers, it is just for you to get 2 saucepans, preferably one bigger than the other.
I particularly like when the bigger pot can sit on the smaller pot without leaving any space ( just that the steam escaping don’t get into my melted butter) Easy, isn’t it?
Double Boilers are necessary when we need to melt or mix our natural ingredients without losing nutrients. Most Natural Skincare Ingredients lose their benefits when exposed directly to heat.
Let me know if this short write-up explains what a Double Boiler is to you. Thanks.
Stay with me,
Ruka

Hi, Sis. Seriously I have always wondered what double boiler means. And I did not want to ask anyone so that I would not look like I was asking an unnecessary question. I now know better, thanks for throwing more light on it.
Hello sis, you are not alone in this. Even some people thought they knew but got it totally wrong. Thanks for reading dear.
