A brilliant idea is to surround yourself with positive, like-minded people. People who get what you are trying to do.
Above all, you have to UNDERSTAND YOUR JOURNEY!
Know what you are doing. Know the reason why you are doing it.
Believe me, if you don’t understand your journey people’s comments, opinions, and actions will really get to you.
Some really nasty soul-destroying comments come from your nearest and dearest. So be prepared.
Some of these people do not even know that their words are hurtful.
A person saw me recently, she hailed me ‘Natural Skincare Mama’ I smiled and thanked her.
She then threw me with her next statement ‘My sister you post a lot on Facebook ooo, you have time shaaa. I can’t do it, I am too busy. ’
I just laughed. I did not bother explaining to this narrow-minded person that-
‘You create time for what is important to you’
People tend to see only what they want to see, yet blame you for the meaning their minds create.
I am an Entrepreneur! I make no apology for doing everything I can to build the kind of life I want.
Most of the people who think like this are the same set of people who deck up in expensive clothes and jewelry every weekend attending one party or another. We all have our lives and where we direct our energy is our own choice. Isn’t it?
I think it is important to vibrate so high that those who don’t want to go with you will naturally go their own ways. That is life.
My priority is building my business. I create time for it, I work hard for it.
There are many talented people out there whose only downfall is a misplaced priority.
People you surround yourself with should understand your journey and you should understand theirs. If you have to keep explaining or tiptoeing around them, you are in trouble.
Starting a business, when done properly, is life-changing. Don’t do it half-halfheartedly and expect to make the same impacts as those who do it consistently. If I have to explain that to someone, that person is obviously not my tribe.
An acquaintance, whom I stopped referring to this person as a friend, once said something about me living on Facebook.
‘Don’t worry, we know where to look for you when we need you’ she said laughing.
I replied ‘Where is that then?’
‘Facebook, of course, that is where you live now’ she stated, trying to pass it off as a joke.
I just smiled even though my soul was injured.
‘Well, you got your facts wrong, you should also check Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, and the rest of my social pages. I am everywhere darlyn’ I said sweetly.
This is the kind of thing you will get from people, and if you want to confront them every time, believe me, you won’t have time to do any work.
Explaining your journey to every Tom, dick, and Harry will derail you.
I don’t bother talking, I just keep doing my thing. At the end of the day, many people want to be successful but only a few are willing to work for it.
If you ever noticed that a so-called friend is grumpy when you start making efforts to better yourself. Please, it is time to move on. Clinging to such relationships will only drag you down.
When you really know your journey, you will be surprised to realize that you do not require anybody to understand. If they do, fine. If they don’t you are still okay to go.
Be focused on your journey and negative comments and behaviour will have little or no effect on you.
